Call for bids deadline extended! The organizations interested in having their country become a candidate to host the 8th Edition of the WEEC Congress in 2015, will have to send a detailed project to the Permanent Secretariat of the WEEC Network by 15 th June 2011.

The candidatures will be assessed according to the following criteria:

1) Demonstrating they have relevant experience in the field of environmental education.

2) Demonstrating they have adequate experience in organizing events at the local, regional, national or international levels.

3) Demonstrating they are skilled at creating networks at different levels and getting various institutions and organizations (national authorities, local institutions, NGOs, etc.) involved in organizing and participating at the Congress.

4) Demonstrating their ability to ensure broad international participation at the Congress.

5) Demonstrating their ability to strengthen the WEEC international network.

6) Demonstrating they have adequate congress facilities and are able to mobilize the necessary resources at the local and regional level (and possibly at the national and international level as well) to guarantee the financial sustainability of the Congress.

7) Demonstrating their commitment to containing the costs of participating at the Congress and in particular facilitating the participation of people belonging to disadvantaged countries or categories (e.g. young people and students), by reducing the costs of participation and overnight stays as much as possible.

8) Guaranteeing the quality of the contents and the cultural project of the Congress, in continuity and total agreement with the results and the spirit of the cultural project of the previous Congresses and in accord with the Permanent Secretariat, obviously allowing for the distinctiveness of their own socio-cultural and political context. Involvement of university departments or centers for Environment and Education studies is strongly encouraged.

9) Guaranteeing the cultural diversity and facilitating participation also thanks to the use of an adequate number of languages both for the web site and during the work of the Congress.

10) Guaranteeing the ecological consistency of the Congress by taking every measure to minimize the ecological footprint of the event.
