The 6th WEEC is starting in Brisbane

lmost 800 delegates from 50 countries took part in the international congress. They heard from global experts about the latest in environmental education research, industry and policy developments and programs. Themes for the congress are Explore, Experience, Educate with a particular focus on the role of environment education in addressing the challenges of climate change.
The five-day congress program encourage participants to learn and share new ways of thinking and to explore new trends in research and practice in environmental education. The first two days of the program will focus on the science impact on climate change in the Asia-Pacific, while day three provides an opportunity for young people to discuss the nature and purpose of environmental education in the future.
Participants have the chance to network and engage with environmental educators who work in schools, higher education, federal, state and local government agencies, non-government organizations, industry and education.
Previously hosted in Portugal, Brazil, Italy, South Africa and Canada this is the first time that the WEEC will be held in the Asia-Pacific region.
